Living during COVID-19
To help manage COVID-19, we now follow a set of rules and guidelines.
What is the current situation?
The New Zealand government continues to work to slow and manage the spread and impact of each new variant of COVID-19. Some people are now eligible for their 4th booster of the COVID-19 vaccine.
To help manage COVID-19, the New Zealand government introduced a traffic light system. Find out about the system and our current settings on the official COVID-19 information site.
Access to New Zealand is now unrestricted for most travelers. - But there are still steps all travellers must complete. The Traveller Declaration is a phone App that confirms your travel status, that enables rapid processing at the airport. You will need to complete this before you get on the plane.
What healthcare and support is available?
When in New Zealand, if you test positive for COVID-19 or need help managing your wellbeing, you can access our free healthcare and support. This includes:
- anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 is looked after in a quarantine facility
- the COVID-19 vaccine, which is free and available to everyone
